HOW DO YOU SHIP A PUPPY? GOOD QUESTION......
When a puppy is shipped they have to have a health exam and health certificate no longer then 10 days prior to shipping. The health certificate can only be given by a licensed veterinarian. This assures both parties that the puppy is in good health at the time of shipping or delivery. We usually get the health certificate a few days before leaving.
We can only book the puppy under one persons name, so you will need to send the name of the person that is going to pick the puppy up as well as their address, phone number and or cell number.
We have shipped puppies all over the U.S. and Canada. Shipping is pretty easy, only difficult when dealing with weather conditions, during the winter in the northern states, and heat in the summer for southern ones. So please check with your airport on temperatures of your new family member for shipping between airports.
Once you adopt a puppy you will need to send us the names of at least two airports you can pick the puppy up at. We feel the puppy is ready to be shipped ( 9-12 weeks of age ) we will call and schedule the flight. We will then email you the flight info. We can not guarantee the day of the week or the time of arrival. We can only schedule a flight 7 days prior to shipping and can not shipped sooner then 48 hours. Flights usually leave around 5:00am-10:00am and will arrive that same day.
DOESN'T THE PUPPY GET HUNGRY AND THIRSTY? GOT IT COVERED!
We take the puppy to the airport with a frozen water dish. It melts slowly throughout the flight and he/she also has food in the carrier with them in the airlines approved carrier. We have shredded newspaper in it to help keep the puppy clean and dry during the flight. After the puppy arrives do not put him down in the airport or a high traffic area. You can offer him/her water right away but wait till you get home to offer any food.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO THE AIRPORT?
In most cases after we book the flight we will get a Airway Bill number or Confirmation number. We will send that number in the email with the shipping arrangements. You will need that number in order to get the puppy. Write it down or print the email we send with the shipping info and take it to the airport with you.
YOU WILL ALSO NEED:
To arrive at least 1 hour before arrival. Drivers License or Government ID. Social Security card or another form of ID ( At least 2 forms of ID) Don't forget the Airway Bill number or Confirmation number.
OTHER THINGS YOU MIGHT WANT TO BRING
Dry towel Paper towels Water bottle Collar and leash (we can not send them with the puppy) Cash for parking (short term airline parking) If you have kids you may want to bring change for pop or candy. It seems like a long wait for any kid! BUYER REQUIREMENTS
Buyer agrees to give all immunizations as recommended by their veterinarian. If the puppy becomes ill, he/she should receive immediate veterinarian care.
